Abstract

As it is already known, the inequalities and asymmetries of power that produced by the heteropatriarchal system in our society are structural and therefore manifested both in the private sphere and in the public space. In this way, the institutions that we inhabit every day, like the University, do not remain untouched by those asymmetries that are in the very constitution of its structural framework. The policies used from a gender perspective and/or against gender violence specifi cally at the University are those that currently call us to write this article. In fact, this article is part of a wider context of production, the one of my thesis, and aims to describe the experience of the Interuniversity Network for gender equality and against violence. This Network can be conceived as an alliance to problematize gender issues in higher education institutions, being a commitment to make visible and strengthen the work against violence and discrimination in extension, teaching and research. In this sense, it is interesting to deepen the analysis of this type of experiences in a feminist key, from the critical theories that subscribe to the depatriarcalization and decolonization of our Latin American States
