The environmental contributions of indigenous peoples are relevant in today’s societies governed by capitalism, its contradiction between capital and environment and relationships marked by ecological imperialism. This paper rescues other ways that create alternatives to capitalism and development such as ancestral knowledge, which motivates the interest of realizing the project about the contributions of the Muysqa indigenous community in the municipality of Cota-Cundinamarca, a group of young westerners named the Gualí Tribe. Additionally, we contribute to the reflection of Social Work in environmental matters.
